This Saturday, Sept 18th, 3-7, New paintings by Beth Nash and Kelly Rae
New Paintings
New to River Gallery, this is the first area exhibit
of paintings by Beth Nash and Kelly Rae
Artists Beth Nash & Kelly Rae
Beth Nash works with images and colors altered by dreams and skewed perception to create achingly beautiful and intimate moments on canvas. Figures and forms are juxtaposed, not to create a still life but to tell a story.
Kelly Rae deconstructs materials and ideas for her paintings. Treated copper and metal is combined with a challenging palette on three dimensional wall pieces. Other paintings have fragments of script floating over a subtle painted surface to suggest movement and patterns as well as lost or forgotten correspondences.
The Rocky River Arts Festival will take place from 10-5pm that day on the sidewalks of Old Detroit Road, featuring art and crafts of local artists.
Note: Old Detroit Road open to pedestrians only and will be closed to traffic from 10-6pm. Parking is available in the lot in front of the gallery off of Detroit or Wooster and behind the gallery.
Solari, Mitchell Sotka Antiques, Amy's Shoes, Girl Next Door and Devout Home all have new Fall collections.
Autumn is a great time for the re-discover the patio at Tartine, where their menu continues to surprise and satisfy as well as all the other treasures the Old Detroit Road neighborhood.

This exhibit collects work by studio artists who call the area home and the faculty and alumni of Cleveland Institute of Art, Cleveland State University , Kent State University & Bowling Green University.
We sought out work that demonstrates the dual influences of an artist’s vision and the functional nature of vessels. Artists challenging and re-interpreting the tenets of function is what makes this work so intriguing.

The remarkable work of Diane Bjel, Kim Schoel & Jeff Yost
this Saturday, Feb 6th, from 3-7pm.
This exhibit will run through March 26, 2010.
All three artists have had work at River Gallery, however this is the first feature exhibit for Diane Bjel and Kim Schoel.
Diane's temples and buildings are not only inspired by architecture but also by her travels to China and Egypt and the spaces of ritual and archeology.
Kim's beautiful jewelry combines her careful selection of antique beads and the charms, beads and pendants she meticulously crafts from precious metals clays of silver, bronze and copper. She shares a fascination with ritual adorenment and archeology with Diane.
Jeff Yost's new collection of oil paintings continue his pursuit of subtlety and nuance in landscapes and still lifes.
